I'm researching a company and can't find any financials. Where should I look?

Answer

First, make sure you have the name of the company correct. Be sure you aren't mistaking the brand with the name of the company.

Second, make sure it is a public company. Yahoo Finance is one place to look up the company's name to identify it's ticker symbol and stock exchange. Private companies aren't required to share the same amount of information.

Third, try these two business databases, Mergent Intellect and Morningstar Investment Research Center for history, financials and links to annual reports.
